Freeport Area School District is looking to replace its Business Director, who has accepted a position with the Plum School District.
Ryan Manzer has been Commercial Director of Freeport Area for the past eight years. Prior to that, he was Assistant Director of Finance for the Pine-Richland School District for three years and a Financial Analyst for PPG Industries for approximately two years.
The Plum School Board voted unanimously last week to hire Manzer as CFO with a starting salary of $ 135,000.
Plum Superintendent Brendan Hyland then said the district would work with officials in the Freeport area for a smooth transition. He said he hoped Manzer would be working for the district by the end of July.
Freeport area superintendent Ian Magness did not return requests for comment on Manzer’s departure or the district’s hiring plans.
Freeport Area School District posted job offer for new business manager on his website. Potential applicants “should be familiar with budgeting, financial planning, cash management, federal and state school funding reporting requirements, fund accounting, tendering, negotiations, interviewing. and facilities, children’s accounting, catering, transportation and school construction ”.
The district is looking to hire someone with accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree.
Applicants can send letters of interest and resumes to the district until the July 9 deadline.
