Launched by CEO Jason Vondrak from a studio on Turquoise Street in Pacific Beach, Prospect Home Finance just celebrated its 15th anniversary on September 17 at Backyard Kitchen and Tap.

All Prospect employees who attended the event were treated to dinner and an interactive murder mystery performance.

From humble beginnings, the soon to be relocated mortgage brokerage to La Jolla has operated from three locations in PB along Garnet Avenue, currently home to the firm’s 156-member team.

Prospect Home Finance is not your average mortgage broker. When potential buyers or those looking to refinance their homes contact Prospect, the business’s goal is to create lifelong customers. They do this by providing them with the best customer service and knowledge about the loan options available. In 2020, Prospect helped more than 2,000 families finance their housing.

Prospect continues to focus on its current niche market: single-family residential loans for home buyers. Current market dynamics have resulted in more customers interested in refinancing an existing home rather than attempting to purchase a home in this competitive, high-priced environment.

For this reason, Prospect has focused almost squarely on an 80% loan-to-value ratio and single-family residential loans between $ 200,000 and $ 700,000 for primary or second homes. This criterion has enabled the company to be extremely efficient in serving customers.

Going forward, Prospect aspires to remain committed to all clients regardless of market conditions by working to support homebuyers in the best possible way with various financing offers.

Navigating the mortgage industry can be difficult. Prospect connects the average consumer with training on mortgage solutions to improve their respective financial situation.

Each month, Prospect employees nominate a charity they wish to support, and through a company-wide voting process, a charity is selected to be the recipient of a monetary donation from Prospect.

Organizations that have recently received financial support from Prospect include the National Down Syndrome Society and the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

In addition to financial support, Prospect employees regularly volunteer for community events such as beach cleanups, book drives to collect reading materials for the Little Free Libraries Project, and an annual food drive.
